Section 8 Sports Inc. - Terms and Conditions


Course confirmation:

Once your application has been reviewed by the Program Director and you have been notified of your acceptance onto a Section 8 course, your position will be held for a period of two weeks, at which time you are required to pay your initial deposit to confirm your space. If the deposit is not paid within two weeks from the date of notification you will be removed from the list and your space will be made available to someone else.

Required Documentation:

Before participation in a Section 8 Course all participants will be required to sign the following documents. The specific forms for your selected course will be forwarded to you with your course information package. 

  • A Waiver of Liability
  • A Medical Information Form
  • A Code of Conduct

General Terms:

Section 8 Snowsport Institute reserves the right to modify the program regarding dates, prices or schedules in any way without prior notice. The right is also reserved to decline to accept or withdraw any program applicant. Refunds cannot be made for unused services including but not limited to accommodation, instruction, guiding, lift passes or functions and an itemization of costs cannot be rendered. Section 8 Snowsport Institute accepts no responsibility for loss due to unforeseen events or circumstances beyond our control. Section 8 reserves the right to remove a participant from a program if they do not abide by our policies. Please see our Waiver of Liability and Code of Conductwhich must be read and signed before participation in a course.

Medical Insurance:

Participants are required to hold valid medical insurance coverage while on course. Please ensure you are covered for off-piste skiing or snowboarding in the country that the course is held.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

We regret the receipt of any cancellations but a portion of the costs has been allocated prior to the start of your program. We recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance should you miss part of the course due to sickness or injury.

-For any cancellations the initial deposit will be forfeit.

-Cancellation up to 60 days prior to the course start date: 100% will be refunded minus the initial deposit.

-Cancellation within 60 days of the course start date: 50% of the course fees will be refunded.

-Cancellation within 30 days of course start date: no money will be refunded.

Course Prerequisites:

-Must be 18 years of age or older by the course start date unless prior consent is givien.

-Must be in good physical condition.

-Must have a passion for skiing or snowboarding and the outdoors, have a positive attitude and be willing to learn.

Attention: Parents or Guardians of Instructor Course Students if Applicant is Under 19 Years of Age.

Section 8 ski and snowboard training programs are open to participants turning 18 prior to the start date of their course. Please be aware that the age of majority in the Province of British Columbia is 19. The law does not permit minors to enter certain establishments or to buy alcoholic beverages. This does not affect course curriculum in any way but means that 18 years olds may be restricted to certain areas of restaurants or pubs and may be limited in some of the social activities that take place outside of program time. All participants of Section 8 programs are expected to abide by the laws of Canada and British Columbia. By signing below I understand that it is the responsibility of the liquor establishments and the local police authorities to enforce these laws and not those of Section 8 Snowsport Institute.

Contract: I acknowledge having read this document and agree to the terms and conditions described, I am aware of the payment and refund policy, and certify all information in my application is correct.

Shipping:

Section 8 Sports Inc. provides shipping to most locations domestically and internationally.

Those items for shipment to countries outside Canada may be subject to taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country ("Import Fees"). The recipient of the shipment is the importer of record in the destination country and is responsible for all Import Fees.

Return Policy:

Section 8 Snowsport Institute is confident that you will appreciate the value of your purchased product, however, if that is not the case we offer a 100% money back guarantee. A full refund for the product purchased can be claimed within 14 days after your delivery is received, and expires after that. Refunds for downloadable items MAY be granted upon reasonable requests made in writing with the reason for return under the sole discretion of Section 8 Sports Inc. By applying for the refund of a downloadable item you agree to delete ALL digital files associated with the item and surrender all future access and ownership rights of the files and videos. Refunds for shipped items will be sent upon receipt of the physical purchase item in it's original condition to the following address:
