Chilean Ski Safari, Chile

Southern Snow Slider Camp

Skiing the Ring of Fire

The longest and thinnest country in the world offers unique opportunities for skiers who like to explore off the beaten path. What could be better than skiing, and improving your skiing, in the midst of some of the most stunning scenery in the world?

We'll begin our skiers journey in the bustling city of Santiago, then head south down the Pan American highway, in a series of short hops, from ski area to ski area, visiting the sights along the way.

You'll spend a few days in the large ski area of Nevados de Chillan, which boasts huge in bounds terrain, hot springs, and fantastic backcountry, then we'll journey further south to our remote, serene base in the Araucarias region from where we'll have the chance to travel out to a couple of different local ski hills, both situated spectacularly on the flanks of huge isolated volcanoes with tremendous views along the chain of neighbouring volcanoes which represent the Chilean section of the Pacific's famous Ring of Fire.

From Araucarias we'll head back to the Pan American Highway to travel even further south to Puerto Montt, a harbour town on the Pacific Ocean, in the region of Los Lagos, known in English as the Lakes District, one of this beautiful country's most stunning regions. Based here in Puerto Montt we'll venture out into the hills to visit one, possibly two of the local ski hills, situated once again on towering, glacier covered volcanoes.

From journey's end in Puerto Montt you will return to Santiago via a short flight of around 1.5 hours, with a trunk full of amazing ski memories, and an SD card full of stunning images to remind you of this most beautiful and friendly of countries.

And lastly...... did we mention the lift lines? No we didn't, because there aren't any.
