Ski or Board an Island in the Pacific!
It's hard to believe that a mountain resort on Vancouver Island receives more snow than any other place in Canada. Don't think palm trees! Think huge stands of douglas fir and yellow cedar and bury them under metres of fluffy white stuff every winter. Mount Washington Alpine Resort, one of Canada's best kept secrets treats visitors to the perfect combination; deep all natural snow and the west coast's rugged beauty.
Straddling Strathcona Provincial Park, British Columbia's oldest provincial park, and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the resort is in an enviable position geographically. Snowfall averages a legendary 10 metres (that's 35 feet!) every season. The snowfall record of 18.5 metres that fell almost insurmountably in the1998/99 season will not be forgotten by the locals.
